Ecliptic Seasons brings a standalone seasonal experience to Minecraft, inspired by the traditional Chinese 24 Solar Terms.

The year is divided into four seasons, each with six solar terms, bringing changes to climate, daylight, atmosphere, and the world around you.

✨ Features

❄️ Dynamic Snow Cover

A new snow-covering system allows surfaces to gradually accumulate thin snow during cold terms, even in places that are not naturally snowy.

Snow can appear on grass, dirt, leaves, rooftops, and more, without relying on chunk loading around players.

🌧️ Regional Climate & Agriculture

Different biomes feel different throughout the year.

Deserts, plains, and other regions each have their own rainfall patterns and farming conditions, and these can also shift between seasons.

🌅 Seasonal Atmosphere

Feel the passage of time through changing daylight length, seasonal ambience, and visual details throughout the year.

Long summer days, long winter nights, and small touches like fireflies and falling leaves all help bring the world to life.

⚙️ Fully Data-Driven

Ecliptic Seasons is built to be highly configurable.

Features and behaviors can be adjusted through config files, data packs, and resource packs.

Can I use this mod in my modpack?

Yes.

Please give proper credit, and do not claim Ecliptic Seasons as your own work.
Also, be sure to read the changelogs, since some updates may include breaking changes.

Which Minecraft versions are supported?

Ecliptic Seasons is actively updated for 1.20.1+.
Versions below 1.20 only receive crash fixes.

Will there be backports to versions before 1.20?

Maybe, but older versions differ significantly and may lack features this mod depends on.

Please do not ask for backports.

Will other platforms be supported?

Possibly. Fabric support is planned.
