Sentinel Nests
This datapack introduces emergent golem architecture to Minecraft villages. When iron golems patrol, they have a chance to place cobblestone blocks in strategic locations around village boundaries, gradually forming low walls, corner towers, and elevated watch platforms.
Building Behavior
The construction behavior triggers more frequently in villages that have experienced recent hostile mob attacks, tracked through a simple scoring system. Golems prioritize placing blocks near village bells, at pathway intersections, and along edges facing dark areas like forests or caves.
Structures remain modest and utilitarian, never exceeding five blocks in height, keeping the aesthetic grounded and functional rather than fantastical.
Environmental Variation
Villages in dangerous biomes like swamps or dark oak forests will develop more extensive fortifications over time compared to peaceful plains villages. This creates organic variation between villages based on their unique histories and environments.
Technical Details
The system uses marker entities and scheduled functions to keep performance impact minimal. Golems only attempt construction during daytime hours. This makes exploration more rewarding as players discover how different settlements have adapted to their surroundings through their silent iron protectors.
