Description
The purpose of this datapack is to make food more useful so that players eat more than just steaks, golden carrots and automatically farmed chicken.
Main features:
- Players gain additional effects when consuming any food or water
- The effects are divided between several food types: baked goods, berries, fish, meat, mushrooms, vegetables and other "beyond-the-beef" foods
- Non-stackable foods give long-lasting effects, stackable and easy-to-get foods give short and weak effects
"Food Update" isn't balanced for vanilla potions, but I believe this datapack makes gameplay a little deeper. You can also download "Amplified Potion Effects" datapack (1.20.5+) to enhance vanilla potions.
Additional information:
- Raw meat, fish and potatoes do not give additional effects
- Water makes you hungry
- Baked goods give a speed
- Berries (and apples) give a regeneration
- Fish gives a resistance
- Mushrooms — well, they give a resistance too
- Meat gives a saturation (exept steaks and chicken)
- Vegetables give a health boost
- Inedible foods (like flesh) give a haste
- Some foods give unique effect, for example, glow berries give a glowing
How it works?
The game checks if you consume food or water and then gives you an effect. You can use "Food Update" with any custom food if it does not matter that the custom food will give additional effects.
