CobbleSafari is a mod aiming to implement new gameplay features from the Pokemon Games to the Cobblemon experience, which started as a simple safari dimension datapack that went overboard.

This mod is work in progress, and while everything has been tested on both clients and various servers, there might be some issues. Please report any issue you might encounter on discord !

Features (for players)

Safari Dimension

The Safari is custom dimension comprised of 18 different biomes, all based on a pokemon type. The purpose of this dimensions is to be able to find rare pokemon, but with a gameplay twist : pokemon can only be caught with Safari Ball, and they can flee ! Access to the dimension timed, and once your time is up, you have to wait for the next real-life day to enter again.

Hoopa Portals

While adventuring, players can see some weird portals floatings around your world. Thoses portals, rumored to have been placed by Hoopa itmself, can teleport you to some strange dungeons and dimension ! But be warned: the portals might not stay open long...

The Sinnoh Underground

After hopping in a weird portal, you ended up in the Sinnoh underground. Play a fun excavation mini-game to find spheres, trasures and fossils (you might even find rare ones that can guarantee you a shiny pokemon...). You can also find weird underground hideaways, trade some sphere with hikers or look for abandonned secrets bases to steal their flag !

Perfumes, Incense and Repel.

Tired of shiny hunting with no end? With our Incenses and Perfumes, you can boost chances of encountering rare cobblemons ! Thoses rare item increase the appearance rate of pokemon with certain specifics. As opposed to regular minecraft potions, using multiples perfumes or incenses in a row will stack their duration instead of resetting it.

Wild Eggs & Incubators

In the safari, you can sometime find wild pokemon nests. Right-clicking it will let you grab its egg! This unkown, wild egg will yield a rare pokemon of a certain type with increased shiny odds. But it can't hatch on its own: You need to use an Incubator !

The Incubator let you hatch your wild eggs, but are also fully compatible with Cobbreeding eggs ! Putting a cobbreeding egg inside an incubator decrease its hatch time by a third, and let you choose its pokeball !

Rewards Balloons

Inspired by pokemon go's sponsored gift, players exploring the overworld can very rarely find rewards balloon floating down that drop cobblemon-related loot when interacted with. A special Safari variant is also availible in the Safari !~~~~

Secret Base PC

The Secret Base PC is a craftable block that allows you to make your own secret base ! Unlike in Pokemon DPPt, this PC won't break rocks, but will instead works like a Beacon, but with a Cobblemon-themed twist: using the flags you found in secret bases over the underground, you can unlock passive effect for your base !~~~~

Features (for modpack makers & server owners)

• Dimensional Timer Util : Add a timer that resets daily to specific dimensions, and then teleport the player back to where they came from. Want player to only have 10 minutes of Nether each day? You can ! Use config to add rules to a dimension, such as daily time, time of the daily reset, or if the player should be sent back to spawn instead of their entrance point.

• Dimensional Restrictions Utils : Add a configurable way to deny players actions like item usage, block breaking AND a way to forbig cobblemon related actions: pokemon summoning, battles, fishing, etc.

• Dungeon Pool : A wheighted list of destination the Hoopa portal can lead to. To add your own dimension to the pool, y

• Cobblemon Spawning Effets : Add effects that increase spawn of specific cobblemon mobs using a consumable items. Duration of effect stacks up, unlike regulars potions.

Dependencies

On Fabric, the mod requires Fabric API and Cobblemon to work properly. On NeoForge, it requires only Cobblemon to work properly.

The mod also includes the following optional dependncies:

• Mega Showndown: adds the Type Plates to the Underground minigame
• Pokeblocks: Platinium-Tier secret bases has some plushies. That's it.
• Cobblemon Trials Edition : adds trials spawner to the Underground Hideaways
• Cobbledollars : Allows you to set the safari entree fee to an amount of cobbledollar currency.
• Cobbreeding: Cobbreeding eggs can be put inside incubators to hatch them faster.
• WTHIT and Jade : shows informations about various blocks like hoopa portals, incubators and secret base pc.

License

The mod is under an CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, which mean you can copy and redistribute the mod in an modpack; remix, transform, and build upon the mod with a fork or sidemod, but you cannot use the mod for commercial purposes, including monetizing any of its feature or content directly or indirectly using real-world currency on your minecraft server.
