🎨 Use formatting codes in anvils to style your item names!

This is an unofficial port of Colorful Anvils by rogi27 for Minecraft 1.21.8+.

How to Use

  1. Place an item in an anvil
  2. Type your name with formatting codes (e.g. &c&lFire Sword)
  3. Take the item - it now has colored text!

Check the gallery for examples of each formatting style!

Formatting Codes

Code Effect
&c Red
&a Green
&b Aqua
&6 Gold
&l Bold
&o Italic
&n Underline
&#RRGGBB Hex color
&&c Escape (shows literal &c)

Advanced

  • <gradient:#ff0000:#00ff00>text</gradient> - Gradient
  • <rainbow>text</rainbow> - Rainbow

Lore Support

Add lore lines using | as separator:

  • &c&lFire Sword|&7Burns everything|&eDeals fire damage

The first part becomes the name, everything after | becomes lore lines.

Server Config

Config file at config/colorfulanvils.json — toggle colors, formatting, hex, gradient, rainbow, and lore on/off. Optional permission support with fabric-permissions-api (disabled by default).
