Why Players Install

• Never lose a best friend: Tamed cats drop a Cat Collar into their owner's inventory on death; Use it on a block to revive your cat. No more needing to leave your pets at home for safety.
• Bonding that matters: Petting and scratching your cat (sneak + right click with an open hand), feeding them, and sticking together deepen your bond and unlock stronger companionship.
• Unique companions: Randomized stats, class type, favorite food to discover, gender (optional), and class.
• Class abilities: Naiad, Guardian, Witchling, Dreamer, Lucky - powers scale with affinity.
• Expressive behavior: Cats emote based on weather, time, and their bond with their owner. They react to the world, teleport smartly, show affection, and follow when tempted with food.
• Multiplayer friendly: Optional friendly-fire protection and owner-only breeding.

How It Works

• Automatic upgrade: Vanilla cats become Improved Cats (keeps name, variant, owner, collar color).
• Custom taming: Use Ancient Cod/Salmon (rare drops from cod/salmon or fisherman trades). Vanilla fish taming can be enabled in config.
• Stat inspection: Sneak + right-click a tamed cat with a Training String to view stats.

Classes & Abilities

• Naiad: Short burst of regeneration (with cooldown) when you're low on health; affinity grows in water and sunlight.
• Guardian: Short burst of resistance (with cooldown) when you take damage; glows near creepers or phantoms.
• Witchling: Gifts potion items; affinity grows near brewing stands or with status effects.
• Dreamer: Stores XP and delivers Bottles o' Enchanting.
• Lucky: Keeps Luck I on you while nearby.

⚠️ Important: Read Before Installing on Existing Worlds

This mod replaces vanilla cats with custom cat entities in order to support its features (personality, abilities, respawn system, etc.).

Uninstall warning

If you remove this mod and then load your world, cats that were converted/managed by this mod may disappear permanently because the custom entity no longer exists without the mod installed.

Before uninstalling

• Back up your world first
• Do not open the world without the mod unless you accept the risk of losing modded cats
• If you already removed the mod and loaded the world, recovery may only be possible from a backup
